At the beginning of October, we invited care staff from The Terrace Care Home in Richmond, for some training on the Care that we provide beyond theirs. Over the course of 2 days, we discussed all aspects of our funeral service. From bringing deceased into our care, specialist equipment, care, and preparation of loved ones, as well as funeral administration like registering the death and who to inform when someone dies.
The aim of the training afternoon was to give them the confidence to answer questions that their residents may have about end of life and funeral wishes. Maple Park Crematorium provided a private tour of their premises and gave an informative talk about the cremation process.
Following the success of these training sessions we will be offering more training days to other local residential homes.
