John Blenkiron & Sons Funeral Directors, with a 50-year legacy in the community, launched their £20,000 Community Fund to support local charities within a three-mile radius of their branches. Ten deserving causes received grants, including the Richmond Refugee Support Group, 1st Richmond Scout Group, and Richmondshire Dales Amateur Swimming Club.
Senior Funeral Director Rebekah Taylor coordinates the fund, emphasising long-term support beyond just financial assistance. The fund is open for a new cycle of applications until September 1, with grants ranging from £300 to £1,500 for projects aligned with health, education, employment, and poverty alleviation.
